Lost Dogs Live

Lost Dogs Live Blog

Lost Dogs: Live, presented by Clare Balding is a new Channel 5 three-part series starting this Tuesday, July 18th at 8pm and will also be streaming on My5.

At Cellmark we’re really excited that our DNA Protected service will be featured in Episode 3 after the team came to film at our Abingdon laboratories with Rav Wilding early in May.

Each live episode will feature a roundup of missing and found dogs with the UK’s public being invited to help find Britain’s missing dogs in a ‘Crimewatch for dogs’ style format. In addition, a team of roving reporters, including Rav, Michelle Ackerley and Dr Amir Khan will talk to experts, groups and organisations to share the latest advice in keeping dogs safe and discover the modern technology available to help find lost or stolen dogs. Have the tissues to hand as there will also be stories of emotional reunions where beloved pets have been returned home often against all the odds.

Commenting on the show, Clare Balding said

Our dogs are not just pets, they’re part of the family and if one goes missing, it’s a traumatic experience. With Channel 5 leading the charge, I’m looking forward to helping reunite owners with their dogs and to share tips on how to keep our animals safe.

We’re really proud that DNA Protected can be part of the solution to dog theft. Having your dog’s profile on the Forensic Dog DNA Database will assist with crime prevention as well as helping the police to ensure your dog’s safe return should your family pet be stolen.
